French companies eager to boost investment in Rwanda

A French trade delegation of thirty members visited Rwanda on October 27th to explore commercial partnerships and investment opportunities. The visit takes place five months after President Emmanuel Macron’s historic trip.

It was indicated that French companies are interested in long-term investments in the country, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, sustainable cities, transportation, construction, environment, agro-industry, and the food processing industry. A call was made to strengthen ties between private sectors, businesses, and the populations.

The delegation met with private sector stakeholders. It was reported that the Rwandan government has improved its ease of doing business index and launched comprehensive trade reforms. This, it was said, has improved the business environment.

Rwanda and France have opened a new chapter in their bilateral relations. Relations between the two countries are evolving positively. The visit by French President Emmanuel Macron has helped to strengthen ties.
