A solemn moment at the headquarters of the National Elections Authority. Gathered in an official session, the members of the NEA proceeded with the final deliberation of the results of the December 28, 2025 presidential election. In its decision, delivered this Monday, January 5th, the president of the electoral institution announced the victory of the candidate from the United Hearts Movement (MCU), Faustin Archange Touadéra.
“Consequently, the National Elections Authority decides: The provisional results of the presidential election of December 28, 2025, are published in accordance with the announced document. In accordance with the provisions of Article 117 of the Electoral Code, Mr. Faustin Archange Touadéra, having obtained the majority of valid votes cast in the first round, with 894,556 votes, or 76.15%, is declared elected President of the Central African Republic.”
With this proclamation, the N.E.A. officially concludes the electoral phase. A major step for the country, closely followed by the population and international partners. Shortly after the results were announced, the declared president-elect, Faustin Archange Touadéra, spoke. He reaffirmed his political line based on dialogue, reconciliation, and national reconstruction.
“Everyone knows that I am pursuing a policy of an outstretched hand here. Our country has suffered too much. It needs all its sons. From the beginning, I have pursued a policy of an outstretched hand, a policy of dialogue. I have extended my hand to armed groups and I will continue to do so, because peace advances through this willingness to dialogue. The Central African people placed their trust in me on December 28th. I will continue this policy of openness, working with all compatriots who wish to do so, respecting everyone’s choices, for the reconstruction of our country.”
President Faustin Archange Touadéra faced 6 other candidates in this election. Coming in second according to the provisional results, Anicet Georges Dologuele garnered 14.66% of the vote. In a country marked by years of crises, the post-election challenge now is the consolidation of peace, national cohesion, and democratic institutions.
