“Let’s ensure the Congolese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) can help Congolese sport move forward,” was the call made on January 17th during the New Year’s greetings ceremony.

The Congolese sports movement paid tribute and expressed its support during this ceremony. The ceremony is a symbol of recognition. The president of the CNOSC was first a great volleyball athlete before being elevated to the head of the Congolese Volleyball Federation. An experience that the sports movement relies on to lead Congo to the top. “You can be assured of the full availability of the members of the Congolese sports movement for the realization of your program of Olympic education, consolidation and hosting capacity, preparation and realization of sporting events,” was specified.

In this new year, the CNOSC is focused on preparing and participating with Congolese athletes in the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. This is the first time they are being held in Africa, as indicated by its theme: “Africa welcomes, and it is Dakar that celebrates.”
The president of the CNOSC invited the federations to better prepare for the training camps that will be organized very soon. The goal is to allow athletes to maintain, through these training camps, the momentum to represent the country well.
Another important moment awaiting the CNOSC is the renewal of its governing bodies. It will take place during the first quarter of this year. “The CNOSC has received a strategic plan from the International Olympic Committee and the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa. From this plan, the CNOSC will draw up its operational plan from which it must act. The first task for the bureau that will be elected is to build an operational plan that the CNOSC will have to implement for the first year,” it was concluded.
