Ticket Sales Begin Across Africa
The Confederation of African Football opened the first wave of ticket sales for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 at 09:00 Moroccan time on Monday. This initiative marks the public countdown to the continent’s premier sporting event next winter.
According to a statement released minutes before the portal opened, the initial inventory focuses on group stage matches to allow fans to plan their trips in advance. Tickets for knockout rounds will be released in later windows extending into early 2026 for price stability reasons.
Visa Cardholders Get 48-Hour Advance Access
From October 13 to 15, fans paying with a Visa product receive an exclusive pre-sale lasting exactly forty-eight hours. Officials stated this promotion recognizes Visa’s status as a payment partner and rewards users who adopted cashless transactions during previous qualifiers.
Practically, cardholders simply need to create a Fan ID on the new Yalla mobile app, click the Visa payment button, and secure one ticket per match. Prices weren’t disclosed at launch, but insiders suggested entry-level seats start around 175 Moroccan dirhams, approximately 18 US dollars for adults.
Yalla App Centralizes Fan ID and E-Visa
Yalla, designed by the Local Organizing Committee with Casablanca startup Netelsan, replaces the paper accreditation used in Cameroon 2021. The platform combines Fan ID, stadium access QR codes, and an e-visa application for foreign visitors, reducing airport processing and easing the workload for Moroccan border police during peak times.
Developers explained that once passport information is verified, Yalla automatically links each Fan ID to the ticketing portal, blocking duplicate sales. “This is a direct lesson learned from Qatar 2022,” the Chief Technology Officer explained, referring to the Hayya digital pass security plan from the World Cup.
Travel Logistics for Congolese Fans
Travel agencies in Brazzaville have started offering eight-day charter packages combining Pointe-Noire-Casablanca flights, budget hotels in Rabat, and bus transfers on match days. The director of Voyage Plus Congo predicted initial allocations could sell out “within weeks” given December holiday traffic and the appeal of diaspora reunions for many families.
The Moroccan embassy in Brazzaville confirmed that approved Yalla E-visa holders can collect physical stickers upon arrival or enter via biometric gates at Mohammed V Airport, streamlining inbound flow. Royal Air Maroc reported plans to add two weekly rotations on the Brazzaville-Casablanca corridor starting July 2025.
Moroccan Stadium Preparation Enters Final Stage
The opening match is scheduled at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier, expanded to 65,000 seats with a translucent roof. According to the Ministry of Equipment, 88 percent of structural work was completed by mid-September, and grass turfing will advance once autumn temperatures stabilize for optimal root development.
