Hapkido honors the Congo in South Korea

Must read

The representative of the Congolese Hapkido Federation won the gold medal on October 26 in Seoul, South Korea, during the Master Instructors Seminar coupled with the Hapkido International Open.

At the conclusion of the instructors’ seminar and the International Open, the Congolese flag was proudly raised in the South Korean capital thanks to the representative’s achievements. His strong participation in the seminar and his prowess during the competition were rewarded.

He indeed won the gold medal, dominating all fifteen opponents of various nationalities registered in his category, specifically in the +83 kg division for senior and veteran athletes.

Confident in the future of Congolese sports, the representative advocated for substantial state support to enable sports federations to execute their programs while regularly bringing honor to the country.

It should be noted that Hapkido is a Korean martial art that uses a set of self-defense techniques focused on joint locks, throws, strikes, chokeholds, and weapon use. It emphasizes fluidity, harmony, and the use of the opponent’s energy and movement.
