Must read

A spectacular burglary took place on the morning of Sunday, October 19th, shortly after the Louvre opened, when a commando of four criminals seized eight 19th-century jewels of “immeasurable heritage value” – according to the Ministry of Culture – before fleeing.

The crown of Empress Eugénie, the wife of Napoleon III, was stolen by the commando, then abandoned during their escape. Its condition is “under examination,” according to the Ministry of Culture.
