Must read

In Abobo, Jean-Louis Billon gathered an enthusiastic crowd on October 18th to present his vision for a united Côte d’Ivoire. He urged the youth to embrace rigor and discipline, the pillars of a prosperous future. Driven by a message of hope, he aims to restore meaning to work and solidarity. His ambition: to make Abobo the beating heart of the national renewal.

On October 18, 2025, Jean-Louis Billon, the CODÉ party’s presidential candidate, held a major rally in Abobo before a large and enthusiastic crowd. Jean-Louis Billon called on the youth to break away from violence, drugs, and anger and to commit to building a better future. His message, centered on discipline, rigor, and responsibility, resonated as a call for the moral and social reconstruction of the country. With over 1.34 million inhabitants according to the 2021 census, Abobo symbolizes, for him, the energy and vitality of Côte d’Ivoire.

“This country needs your energy, your intelligence, your discipline. Discipline is your strength. It’s what makes the difference between someone who endures their life and someone who builds it. Be the standard-bearer of this new era. Yes, Abobo is strong, Abobo is courageous, Abobo is joy together. In peace and discipline, we will write a new history for Abobo. A new history for the youth. A new history for Côte d’Ivoire.”

Jean-Louis Billon notably praised the resilience and determination of Abobo’s supporters, whom he considers a model of national unity. He stressed the need to build together a society based on peace and solidarity. His message is particularly aimed at young people, whose unemployment rate is estimated at 3.92% among 15-24 year olds in 2024, an indicator that highlights the challenge of workforce integration.

“The program I present to you is one where everyone will be taken into account. No one should feel left out of development in Côte d’Ivoire. Mechanics, transporters, garage owners, traders, hairdressers, artisans, all the artisans of Côte d’Ivoire, they are numerous here in Abobo. Everyone will have their place in the development of our country.”

The CODÉ candidate presents a program focused on valuing all professions and modernizing manual labor. In a country where nearly 89.2% of jobs remain informal, according to official data, Jean-Louis Billon promises an economic reform that promotes training, formalization, and the recognition of local skills.
