Once again, The Old Lady is in UEFA’s sights. Juventus Turin has explained itself in a statement. “Regarding the revenue rule parameter, on September 18, as is standard in similar situations for clubs participating in UEFA competitions, Juventus received a communication from UEFA about the opening of a procedure for a potential breach for the three-year period 2022-23 to 2024-25,” the statement reads.

“The outcome of this procedure (…) is expected in the spring of 2026 and could result in a potential financial sanction (likely of a relatively insignificant amount) as well as potential sporting restrictions (such as, for example, restrictions on registering new players for UEFA competition lists),” the text continues.

Losses of 58.1 million during the 2024-25 season

In these documents communicated to shareholders ahead of its general meeting on November 7, the most decorated club in Italian football states it “has complied with the Squad Cost Ratio (wages and transfer fees must not exceed 70% of revenue) and expects (…) to be able to comply with this parameter for the calendar year 2025 as well.”

According to Financial Fair Play rules, the permitted deficit for a club over three years must not exceed 60 million euros, increased to 90 million euros over the same period for a club deemed “in good financial health.”

Juventus recorded losses of 58.1 million during the 2024-25 season, a sharp decrease compared to the 199.2 million euro loss recorded in the previous financial year.

Juve, controlled by the Agnelli family via its holding company Exor, was banned from European competitions in 2023-24 due to Financial Fair Play breaches.

Ahead of the 7th matchday of the Italian Championship this weekend, the Bianconeri, who face Como on Sunday, October 19, are in fourth place, three points behind the leader and reigning champion, Napoli, but have just drawn five consecutive matches across all competitions.
