According to Forbes, the Portuguese international is set to earn $280 million for the 2025-2026 season, including $230 million in salary from his Saudi club Al-Nassr and $50 million from sponsorship deals.
At 40 years old, the athlete is considered one of the greatest footballers in history. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been playing in the Saudi league since 2023. With Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo extended his contract until 2027 for a total amount estimated at over $300 million.
The American magazine revealed its ranking of the highest-paid football players. Far behind Cristiano Ronaldo, his eternal rival Lionel Messi is expected to earn $130 million during the same period. The Argentine has been playing for Inter Miami since 2023.
The Forbes top 10 list concludes with FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. At 18 years old, he is projected to earn $43 million during the 2025-2026 season.
