The International French-Speaking Scrabble Federation (FISF) has officially appointed Paul Emmanuel Ngouama as the Federal Delegate to the International Youth Commission and the Federal Delegate to the Promotion Commission. This double appointment honors Congo within this international federation.

This double promotion crowns the career of a man whose commitment, creativity, and determination have remained constant and unwavering in promoting French-language Scrabble to the new generation. It is also a mark of recognition for the Congolese Scrabble Federation, whose efforts to promote the discipline worldwide are widely praised.

Active for several years in developing Scrabble in Africa, Paul Emmanuel Ngouama has distinguished himself through his ability to unite people, innovate, and design initiatives tailored to local realities. He notably served as Vice-President of the organizing committee for the 9th African Scrabble Championships (Champas) in Pointe-Noire last April. This major continental event helped strengthen the visibility of Scrabble in Congo and across the continent.

His involvement in training, event organization, and the promotion of young talent now serves as a model of dynamism within the Scrabble community. “My goal is to promote reading by giving young people a taste for words through Scrabble,” he stated after his promotion.

He added that in his new roles, his work will actively contribute to implementing the FISF’s international strategies for promoting the sport and mobilizing French-speaking youth, while strengthening ties between national federations and educational stakeholders. This is a forward-looking appointment, representative of a generation that aims to combine passion and excellence.

Paul Emmanuel Ngouama has been playing Scrabble since 2002 but truly entered the federation in 2017 by actively participating in a children’s holiday Scrabble initiation workshop. In September 2021, he was promoted to handle communication and organization within the Congolese Scrabble Federation. In November 2022, he joined the organizing team for the 5th national championship. A year later, he participated in the 7th Champas in Dakhla, Morocco, as a bureau member.

In August 2023, he was appointed Secretary General of the Congolese Scrabble Federation following its general assembly. In May 2025, he received a double appointment following the African championships.
