Dozens of people participated in the awareness walk against diabetes. Covering a 5 km round-trip distance, participants walked in unity to amplify communication on this issue.
For the organizers of this walk, raising awareness about physical activity is essential. They advise the population, regardless of age or social category, to engage in a few minutes of sport daily. This initiative aims to encourage people to integrate movement into their daily routine, a key element in preventing diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
They assert that diabetes is a silent killer that invades families. Over 600 million people worldwide live with diabetes.
The goal of this activity is also to raise public awareness about getting screened. The awareness campaign will take place in schools, markets, and workplaces under the theme “Diabetes and Well-being at Work.”
On November 26, MCPLC will launch the “Taxi Bomoyi” project. This initiative involves training taxi drivers to become mobile community relays, capable of raising awareness among passengers, disseminating prevention messages, and directing clients to healthcare facilities.
