A virtual Rwanda-Zimbabwe business seminar was held on June 16 to encourage the business communities on both sides to explore trade opportunities between the two countries. The goal of the interactive Rwanda-Zimbabwe trade and investment session was to raise awareness of the business opportunities available in both countries.

The virtual seminar brought together 200 participants from the public and private sectors of Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Following the virtual seminar, an in-person Rwanda-Zimbabwe trade and investment conference is scheduled for July of this year in Rwanda.

Addressing the seminar participants, the CEO of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) noted that the two countries should build on existing bilateral relations and boost trade and investment between them. She highlighted that sectors such as energy, agriculture, trade and manufacturing, hospitality, and financial services are promising areas for strengthening cooperation. She added that, due to its business-friendly environment, Rwanda has been able to attract critical investments, including from Volkswagen and Zipline.
