Congolese youth as a national priority: President Sassou-N’Guesso’s direction.

Must read

With nearly 60% of its population under the age of 25, the Republic of Congo places its youth at the heart of its development project. President Denis Sassou-N’Guesso has made this issue an absolute priority, proclaiming 2024 the “Year of Youth” and calling for a general mobilization of institutions. His vision: to provide every young Congolese with the means to train, to undertake, and to fully flourish.

Under his leadership, a wide range of concrete programs has been deployed. The Mosala project offers free training in beekeeping, e-commerce, or agricultural techniques to thousands of out-of-school youth. The National Fund for Employability and Apprenticeship Support (FONEA) and the Stagi program train and professionally integrate young people into high-potential trades. To stimulate entrepreneurship, the Impulse, Guarantee, and Support Fund (FIGA) provides guaranteed credit and business creation support.

President Sassou-N’Guesso also ensures the inclusion of all, particularly persons with disabilities, as seen during the Employment and Inclusion Forum. Sports, considered a powerful lever for personal development and social cohesion, receives significant investment, with the modernization of infrastructure, the promotion of various disciplines, and the adoption of a new Sports Code.

Thanks to this comprehensive policy, driven from the highest level of the state, Congo is building the foundations for a future where its talented and enterprising youth become the primary architects of national modernization and prosperity.
